It’s in Marshfield (a village in the countryside on the South Gloucester/ Wiltshire border) I grew up here and my family still live here, it’s where my Brother’s house is I told you about. It’s where we are renting for the foreseeable. These photos don’t do it justice but I had to document it while we were actually there as it’s a big deal for us as it’s taken 36…. well nearly 37 years to get around to taking Glen for a walk there! X
As my brother’s already said, our dad (your uncle jack) did love bull’s hills, from his childhood right through to his adulthood, and hence why mum wanted to have the memorial tree planted down by holly barn, overlooking the valley, one of his favourite spots. Hope Glen enjoyed it and you too Mandy,it must’ve brought back some happy memories for you! Welcome home by the way. 😘😘
Like I said to Glenn, I need to find where that tree is. I remember so clearly Uncle Jack taking us down BHs and protecting a from a ‘bull’! 😍 ….. I’m sure it was him who told us about smoking some sort of dried out vine hanging from a tree too! 😉 x.
Thanks, we are very happy to be back in Lockdown here rather than India! Got back just in time as it worked out! Should be in Egypt now but would not want to be there during this situation. X
Dad’s tree is by holly barn,it’s got a small plaque with his name on,and also a bit of fencing around it,as it’s where Glyn Watkins keeps sheep (or he did). My two oldest boy’s planted the tree for him, on behalf of mum as they too have fond memories of going down bull’s hills with their Gramp when they were kid’s. Ps. Just to say the gate by holly barn is usually shut and padlocked so not sure if you’d have to ask Glyn Watkins if you can access the field? 🤔 X
Hi Steve, how are you? 😃…..the last time I saw you we were young and carefree teenagers and were sorting your Records/Albums out before going to the tip with stuff for some reason. Now suddenly we are both Grandparents 😯 where did all the years go!? X
Special memories, of that lovely valley nice choice on a day like this, Lol ,glad, you came home when you did
My Dad loves Bulls Hills he looks over it from his memorial tree ,hope your blogs continue, maybe in travel sites web for travelling back packers if not already

Hi Mandy and Glen, The tree is to the left of Glyn Watkins grey barn down Beeks lane, your Dad knows it, it has wire mesh around to protect from animals, Glyn tends to it, have a positive day Lol!

Why are you laughing Mark? 😂 🤔 …..we need to walk through the valley not just the width of it through the bridlepath. It’s a work in progress, no rush. 😘
It looks beautiful..wherever it is! 🌞
